#2 Mind map

The creativity technique of mind mapping works similarly to brainstorming, except that more structure is brought into the thought processes. For this creativity technique, too, all you need is a sheet of paper something like a regular name card draft, which shouldn't be too small, and a pen. Write your starting point or your central question in the middle of the sheet.

For example, from this central point, the goal of "creative company names" is to draw branches in different directions. There is another brainstorming session that will give you many exciting and relevant terms that have a certain, albeit often distant, relationship to your keyword. Mind mapping now goes even further because you structure your brainstorming results around your central key term.

#3 Reverse the Problem

The creativity technique of reversing the problem allows you to find an entirely new perspective on your question. For example, if your goal is as described above: "What does a cool company name need to look like that represents the company, reaches the target group of potential customers and draws attention to your customers?"

What could the most inappropriate company name ever be for the company? Which name would the target group of your customer not be interested in at all or even offend them?

The approach of this creativity technique, which at first seems completely absurd, can loosen up your stuck thoughts. It's fun to change perspective because if you get too bogged down to find a name, the fun and ease can quickly be lost, and frustration set in.

Just deal with what is the absolute opposite of your actual goal. Maybe you will come up with some funny and creative ideas for this. Use these as a starting point to get back to your actual concern with a fresh perspective.
