Advantages and Disadvantages of A Poster Part One
There are various ways of presenting content in poster form. It depends on the resources available which type is chosen.
Roll-up Poster
Today's most common poster is the "roll-up," which is usually printed out in A0 format and rolled up (in a protective cover). If a suitable printer is available, this is the simplest and most aesthetically pleasing way.
But such printers are not always available, or an A0 printout is affordable. Some software programs offer a compromise solution in which a poster can be created in A0 but printed out on 16 A4 sheets.
The sheets then have to be glued together. This is less appealing up close, but the differences to an A0-sized poster can hardly be seen from a distance.
Modular Poster
A modular poster consists of various A4 or A3 sheets that are not glued together but rather arranged on a pinboard. It has the advantage of being easy to manufacture and easy to transport.
In addition, you are forced to display text and image blocks in a well-structured manner. However, the poster looks less professional and is less common.
A special form is a digital poster printing, which is not printed out but rather projected via a beamer. The problem of finding a suitable printer is eliminated here, but there are a few things to consider here as well.
Not all projectors are equally capable of displaying colors adequately, which is why you have to choose greater contrasts than when printing. In addition, the font size has to be selected a little larger due to the lower resolution.
Since many pictures are used, a digital poster can become very large, making it difficult to transfer it to another computer.
