Should I Send Out Save-The-Date Cards?

Save the date announcements are becoming increasingly popular in a world when people appear to be busier by the minute, and we want to ensure that our loved ones will be accessible to celebrate our important day with us.

Save the date cards are a terrific way to combine announcing your engagement and reserving the wedding date. They are especially handy if you have a large number of guests travelling from abroad or out of town, since they will need to make travel plans well in advance.

They are especially necessary if you are being married on a holiday weekend or at a particularly busy time of year, such as Christmas.

Please save the date. Cards can be sent up to a year in advance. They do not require a response and can take the form of a simple postcard printing or even a fridge magnet.

When Should Wedding Invitations Be Sent?

Whether or whether you send save the date cards, you should notify out-of-town guests of your wedding date six to eight months in advance. Four to five months before the wedding, you should order your wedding invitations and additional stationery, such as place cards.

Remember to provide enough of time for writing the invites; if you want to incorporate personal remarks, this might be a time-consuming procedure. Send out the invites around eight weeks before the wedding.
