Printer Hardware Features

Suppose your printer has a viaduct tray for media. In that case, this is a secondary tray that is typically placed just above or below the paper tray and is designed to accommodate thicker media (such as stickers and envelopes) and bypass at least one set of rollers inside the printer. This results in a straighter path through the system and minimizing the chances of your sticker sheets rotting (improving the quality of alignment that the printer provides).

You can also see if your printer has any of the following features:

Most printers have narrow edge feed trays, which means the thin edge of your sheets feeds into the printer first (portrait). If your printer has both types of feeds, make sure you're just using the narrow edge feed (and check that your print settings are also set to this option). The stickers are all made with formats that feed narrow edge leading, and the paper stickers have a grain that runs in the same direction as the grain of the wood. If you feed your stickers into your printer with the wide edge leading (against the grain), they will detach from the backing sheet and jam.

Edge-to-Edge Printing, also referred to as "borderless" printing, allows you to print all the way to the edge of an A4 board. Most standard desktop printers won't be able to do this, so there will be a border around the edge of your sticker printing sheets that your printer won't be able to print. If any part of any of your stickers falls into this unprintable area, you'll need to adjust your design to leave these areas of your template blank.

Finally, ensure that your printer has appropriate print settings for printing stickers and that you have chosen these settings before printing.

You should always check the page size, as some printers will default to American Letter (this must be an A4)

If a particular Stickers print setting is open, use it; if not, use a Heavy Paper setting to get the best possible print quality on your stickers.

Scaling: Make sure no scaling options (such as a percentage or other Fit To Page options) are used.
