5. A Card That Is Cluttered:

A novella's print content does not appear on an attractive business card. Too much print appears cluttered, difficult to read, and unprofessional. The simplest solution is the best. Sort through the information and maintain only what is required for someone to know your name, firm, what you do, why they should use you, and how to contact you.

If you have too much information to fit on the front of the professional naamecard, keep in mind that the backside can be used as well. The back of a card is an excellent area to provide a link to join up for your email list, for example.

6. Inadequate or Ineffective Use Of Color:

Add a dash of color to your business cards; you'd be amazed how much of a difference it makes; for example, much as restaurateurs employ the color red for its delicious nature, the judicious use of red in a business card is highly aesthetically attractive. Avoid the usual error of using grey print on a white backdrop; the print lacks contrast and is difficult to see.

On the other hand, don't make the color-overload error. Too many colors that do not complement one another will make the card seem cluttered and detract from the information.
