What Is The Purpose Of A Business Name Card Part One
By reflex, when we start as a company, we try to create a visual identity and print communication supports... In other words, we create a business name card very quickly. But why do it?
What is the purpose of a business namecard? I brought up the topic of the business name card a while back on Instagram, and the ensuing discussion made me want to look into it... and expand on the place of the business name card in a company's communication, these days. And that's what we'll see now!
What Is A Business Name Card?
A business name card is a print tool (i.e. "printed") of the size of an A7 (a sheet of paper folded on itself by 3 times). The actual dimensions are generally 8.5cm x 5.4cm, and it is often presented in landscape format.
This very small size for a commercial tool is characteristic of the business name card: it must be easily stored in a pocket, a portfolio, a notebook. Its ambition is to be small and easily transportable.
The paper is thicker than a sheet of paper, to make it a medium that will not fold, while remaining light and suitable for storage in a wallet.
Why Do We Use It?
It is above all a prospecting tool! It is used to provide concrete and quick information about your company to a potential customer or partner. It is an effective communication support, which is given in person. It is also possible to leave it in strategic places frequented by your target (a trade show, a business partner, a supplier, restaurants, etc.), so that the latter chooses to take it by itself.
It is used so that the person to whom it is sent can have access to information about the company, thus giving him the means to easily contact us, without cluttering it up or being in aggressive prospecting.
