Keep An Eye Out For Border Crossings

Because cutting might vary somewhat, it's best to keep all of your important text and brand information within the design safe zone. This zone extends 1/8 inch around the card's edge.  Check that your wording fits inside the 3.25 x 1.75-inch space on the card. You wouldn't want your phone number's final digit to be omitted!

Designing with borders may be challenging. Outside the safe zone, thin margins less than 1/8th inch thick may not trim uniformly. To avoid an "off-center" appearance, keep border lines or other thin lines within the safe zone and away from the edge of your business name card.

Custom Business Name Cards And Two-sided Business Name Cards

When you need an additional area to work with or want to provide a unique offer or more information about your company or product, using double-sided business name cards is a smart choice. Create a new page in your file for the rear side, adhering to the size constraints outlined above.

There are several commercial printing alternatives for bespoke business name cards, including round edges and bespoke printing effects. Some of the technical aspects of implementing these effects can be handled by our team of print professionals. Send us your file and we'll give you suggestions on how to enhance and improve the design to make it stand out from the rest.

Business Name Cards That Are Folded

A bespoke folded business namecard or tent card is another popular choice. They may be used as a little brochure or greeting card because they have double the printing area of a regular business name card. Set your file size for folded business name cards to 3.75 x 4.25 with bleed or 3.5 x 4 without bleed.

Make two pages in your file: one for the card's outside (front and back) and one for the interior. See our Folded Business name card Templates with Design and Layout Instructions for samples and downloadable free templates for both vertical and horizontal cards with long, short, and offset fold layout criteria.
