Business Name Card Size Guide Part One

The dimensions of standard business name cards are 8.5 x 5.4 cm. However, nothing obliges you to respect them! You are free to stand out by choosing a more imaginative format if it is adapted to your type of activity. To know everything, read our guide. 

Dimensions of Business Name Cards 

8.5 x 5.4 cm: the great classic 

Simple and effective, the standard business name card can be embellished with different finishes such as soft touch lamination (peach skin effect), gilding, a metallic effect, selective varnish, etc. This will give it more pep for a less traditional look. 

8.5 x 2.5 cm: the mini format 

With its fake subway ticket look (old generation), the mini business name card goes straight to the point. Indeed, it is difficult to put too much information on it; it is therefore necessary to go to the essential by writing the most useful and striking data (who you are + what you offer + how to contact you). 

12.8 x 8.2: the commercial format 

On the other hand, the business name card has a larger surface. You can therefore add more information and illustrations. It can also be used as an advertising card, membership card, appointment card, loyalty card, etc. 

5.4 x 5.4: the square format 

The square business name card is a good compromise. Indeed, it is more original than the traditional rectangular card but without being too eccentric either. 

The advantage of the folded business name card is that it offers double the surface area while maintaining a pocket size. You can choose a vertical fold like a book, or horizontal like an easel. 

the round format 

With this original format, you'll definitely make an impression. It's a good thing, because that's precisely the goal! The surface being reduced, however the recto-verso printing in order to put all the information which your interlocutor needs to recontact you. 

Of course this list is not exhaustive and other formats or dimensions are possible. With a little imagination, everything is possible!
