Business Name Card Size Guide Part Two
What Information to Put?
As we have already seen in a previous post, it is essential to go to the essential when you create your business name card. There is no need to overload it with unnecessary information. You should simply indicate :
- Your first and last name as well as your position
- Your contact information: address, phone number and email
- The logo and/or the name of your company
- Your website
Checklist of mistakes to avoid when preparing your file
If you create the file that will be used to print your business name card yourself, via InDesign or Illustrator, remember to respect the following points
choose a format adapted to your target (some trades can afford a little fantasy while others need to be more corporate)
add bleed to your file to avoid having an unsightly white border when cutting your card
respect a blank quiet zone 2 or 3 millimeters from the edges to avoid your text being truncated when printed
Set your colors to full color
the resolution of your file must be 150 dpi minimum (ideally 300)
integrate your fonts so that they are recognized by the machines. Otherwise, vectorize them
On the other hand, if you use an online graphic creation software such as Canva, the file generated should comply with the requirements of printers. If in doubt, do not hesitate to ask for advice before validating your order. At Papeo, we strongly recommend that our customers take the option of a "thorough check with proof". With this option, our graphic designers check your file carefully and contact you if they detect any anomaly. This ensures that you get the best possible result when printing.
Finishes for Personalized Business Name Cards
You can play on many criteria to make a unique business card printing that stand out from the competition. The first of them is the shape, which is noticed at first sight. Rounded corners, original laser cutting, there is no lack of ideas on the internet to inspire you. You can also bet on the finishes: selective varnish to highlight your logo and/or your name, color edge, matte, gloss or soft touch lamination, hot foil stamping, embossing, etc. Finally, the type of support will also make the difference: chromolux, metallic paper, black, kraft, recycled or pvc, everything is possible as long as it remains coherent with your activity. We carefully check your file and contact you if they detect any anomaly. This ensures that you get the best possible result when printing.
