Digital Art Can Be Used In Many Places, For Example:

  • Poster or flyer printing design
  • Web page background graphics
  • Animation on a film or TV show
  • Computer Game Designers use digital artwork as well!

There are a few different types of devices out these days, but the most common ones include Graphics Tablets, Mouse Pens (Wacom), Tablet Screens and Smartphones.

The mouse pen is great because you get more precision when drawing than with an actual mouse. It also has pressure sensitivity which means you can draw more intricate lines depending on how hard you apply your pen onto the screen.

Traditional Art Vs Digital Art

Traditional art is pictures, paintings and drawings that are made with a paintbrush on paper. Digital art uses software to create or manipulate digital images by hand through a tablet or PC.

Creating traditional artwork can be time-consuming, and it takes skill level to produce good quality work. You also have to learn how different mediums mix and blend in different environments. In contrast, digital art is made with a mouse pen and software.

The process of digital art is faster because you don't need to mix different mediums or worry about the environment in which your artwork will be displayed.

Digital graphic design usually has more functionality than traditional drawings, such as animations, fonts, filters and other features that have been created beforehand by designers. Creators save these as templates and distribute them for use for free or by paying a small fee.

With digital art, you can try out different templates and designs before landing on the desired outcome. Try out different colour combinations on a design, and if you don't like it, you can erase it like it was never there before. In traditional art, this is impossible as it will leave some residue on the paper even if you try to erase a wrong colour combination.

Fun Fact: You can save papers by drawing digitally!
