Basic Design Tips for Company Chop Part One
Company chop has been a mainstay in business even if companies around the world is gradually going paperless. This is largely due to its vital function which is to authorize official documents.
In many parts of the world, a document can be called official only if it is stamped with the official company chop. A few years ago, this rule also applies to Singaporean companies because of the regulation set by the government. However, this regulation has been removed now.
Despite the removal, many companies still have their own company chop for various uses. Apart from its main function which is to certify a document, a company chop is also used to affirm the company’s decision and to raise brand awareness.
Traditionally, a company chop includes the company’s logo, company’s name, and registration number. Of course, this is not a mandatory formation as you can add, replace, or even subtract the elements based on your own consideration. However, when you design your own company chop, there are some basic design guidelines that you need to follow to ensure high quality and effective design:
1. Shape
The first step of designing your own company chop is to choose its shape. Do you want a square stamp, round stamp, rectangle stamp, or maybe a triangle stamp? Choose what you think would work best for your interest. While triangle stamp is uncommon, if it fits your brand identity then go for it. Never afraid to do the unordinary, but make sure your Singapore company chop maker can materialize the design you have in mind.
2. Size
Size matters. If you need the stamp to ‘travel’ with you to places, go for a small size stamp that can fit into your pocket. But if it has to stay on your desk all the time to avoid forgery, go for a professional stamp with medium to large size. You also have to consider the size of documents that you stamp frequently. If it’s a small cheque, you should not use a large stamp because it will cover a big portion of the cheque.
