Definition of e-commerce
E-commerce is a website that is used to sell the products of a brand. You will not find many online stores because this website is exclusively created and managed by a brand. E-commerce is often equated with the marketplace. In fact, both have different online business systems. E-commerce does not provide a place for other brands on their website unless it has formed a merger or partnership. Currently, there are many e-commerce in Singapore that have succeeded in selling their brands and getting many customers.

Definition of marketplace
A marketplace is a website that connects a seller with a buyer via the internet. The concept is the same as the traditional market, the only difference is the place. Traditional markets are usually physical stores, while marketplaces are online stores. Through the marketplace, buyers can find various types of products they want from various brands. Also, it is possible for buyers to be interested in opening their own stores and selling their products on the marketplace.

The most obvious thing that distinguishes marketplace and e-commerce is the products. In the marketplace, you can find many products, such as electronics, fashion, groceries, accessories, and more from different sellers. Whereas in e-commerce, products are limited and only from one seller.
