Let's be Fun and Creative with DIY Postcard!: Part 2
You can do whatever design you want to
Because you make it at home, you could try putting your drawing, or printing a picture of yourself or your family on it. As long as it does not break the copyright use of a picture and still within the “Safe for Work” limits, you can put whatever design you want to. And because of it, you could make your own holiday postcard, whether it’d be the New Year, Christmas or lunar new year, you could print a family picture of yours and then send it to your friends or relatives. So, it would make your postcard stands out more than the store-bought holiday postcards.
Not only that, because you make the postcard by hand, you can always put more decorations on it, whether it’d be glitters, a bow, a colourful pen to write the message, etc. The possibilities are endless with decorations, just make sure that everything is properly stuck to it with a strong adhesive, the last thing you want to receive is a patchy or missing decoration postcard
Another tip is to incorporate the local scene into the postcard, let’s say you are making a postcard in Singapore you can put some Merlion statue stickers or some stickers from Chinatown to further enrich the postcard's style. Or maybe you are in New York, you could always take some pictures from Manhattan, whether it’d be Central Park, Downtown or Broadway area, or something more mainstream, like the statue of liberty.
