"Graphic designing is an art that has been around for many years. And, it doesn't look like it's going anywhere anytime soon."

That was what my graphic arts teacher told me when I was in high school ten years ago. And, he could not have been more right! Graphic design is a popular field of work, and there are various applications to be used depending on the type of company you're working with.

This post will go over some of the most commonly used software in graphic designing using Windows as our platform.

Adobe Photoshop

Adobe Photoshop the most widely used software in graphic designing. It has been around for over 20 years, and it's still going strong! If you're looking to create digital images, make text look like a specific type of font, or use certain shapes, then this would be your best bet. The downside? It requires high computing power to run.

Adobe Illustrator

Adobe Illustrator is a popular design application for graphic designing, and it's used to make graphics, icons, logo design, illustrations etc.

It comes with a vector drawing tool that makes the designing process much easier because you can go back and forth between shapes quickly without worrying about pixels or resolution. The cons of Adobe Illustrator includes the high price and the fact that it's not as widely used.

Adobe InDesign

Adobe InDesign is a design application that helps design magazines, newspapers or books to see how they will look when printed out. It has been around for over 20 years and was one of the first programs created by Adobe Systems Incorporated back in 1988!

The pros include the ability to incorporate various design elements, making it such a powerful design tool. It also has many pre-designed templates to make the designing process more manageable and less time-consuming.

The cons include not being able to handle complicated pages with great detail and having some bugs in the program that can be hard to fix without crashing.
