Headshot vs Logo on A Name Card Part One
Name Cards are important tools in networking and marketing. They give a piece of short and detailed information about you and what you do. If properly designed, it portrays you and your personality to your potential client and recipient.
Name cards can be designed in various ways to suit your taste and attract your clients; however, whatever way it is designed, the aim is to leave an impression, and a good one, on your client.
A name card can come in two forms; with a logo or with a headshot.
A Logo Is A Mark, Symbol or
an emblem that is uniquely designed to identify, represent, and portray the values of your brand or person. A personalised logo design on your name card makes your card unique.
Headshots, however, perform almost the same function as a logo. It is an image of an individual placed on a card. Usually, the image shows the face down to the shoulder of the card owner.
Alongside The Basic Use of A Logo
which headshot shares, it does more as it helps the recipient of the card a recognition of your face even after collecting the card.
Now, if you're considering making a name card and you're thinking of choosing between a logo and headshot, below is a look at the distinctions between the two.
1. The major difference is that headshot carries your image while the logo only has an emblem with which it can identify you. As much as a logo goes a long way in portraying your identity, a headshot helps your card recipient recognize you.
Imagine someone that collected a couple of cards with yours inclusive, with your image in the card, the person will recognize you quickly.
2. A headshot is mostly used by realtors and sometimes doctors. I don't understand why realtors find the headshot as their thing while other professions do not, and they just use the logo.
Thank goodness that is changing already, as many other professionals are adopting the headshot for name cards now.
