Most people are aware that to be more productive at work, one must consider a 360 perspective on your productivity. In fact, good cognitive performance will never really be at its optimal level unless and until one takes time to address other issues that tend to plague most in-work lives, such as stress, exhaustion and burnout.  

With the modern distractions which abound in our hectic lives, it is becoming increasingly difficult for people to make time for such crucial areas of their lives. The article below gives you a few tips on how to be more productive. 

First of all, if you have problems prioritizing and dividing up your daily tasks into highly effective and less effective ones, you may want to consider having a break. One way in which having breaks can have a highly effective impact on your productivity is by diverting your attention away from unimportant tasks.

For instance, if you find yourself constantly focusing on things that don't matter to you, maybe it is high time for you to stop and have a breather. This will allow you to sort out whatever is essential to you and allow your brain to regain its composure. 

Secondly, when it comes to doing your most important tasks, write them down. Having something on paper to refer back to when you get stuck on them dramatically improves your chances of being more productive. It also forces you to do something about your less urgent tasks, which you find yourself procrastinating on.

Indeed, studies have shown that the act of writing down your goals, as opposed to not having them written down, made significant improvements to an individual's overall ability to focus and achieve his goals. 

Thirdly, treat your goals as living entities with your life force, energy and enthusiasm; rather than seeing them as tasks for the week, which you must accomplish, try to view them as a part of your life that you want to grow and flourish. This attitude will go a long way to ensure that you enjoy doing the tasks at hand, rather than becoming stuck in a rut and dreading them.

Furthermore, taking the time to write down your goals and take action on them will gradually start to get you closer to achieving your goals, no matter how small they seem. So make the most of your next week by doing just this one thing: treating your goals as living entities that you want to grow and prosper. 

Fourth, schedule time for yourself. Yes, I said schedule! Having an hour or so just for yourself, away from everything, will make you feel like you have more time to work on your own. This will encourage you to put forth the effort needed so that you can get things done. To keep yourself more organized, you can paste aesthetic sticker printing  in your notebook,  so as to keep yourself more organized and also to remind yourself to have a free time of your own.

It also gives you a nice little escape from whatever you might be doing at the moment, allowing you to get back to your own flow and focus on your productivity. 

Fifth, reduce the number of unnecessary distractions. The more things you can do without, the better you will feel about yourself. In a society where people seem to multiply their stress without realizing it, sometimes it's hard to ignore the amount of wasted time you are wasting every single day.

Many people use a simple trick to significantly reduce their time wasted each day to eat quality, well-balanced meals right before they start working. Even if you feel like you don't need it, eating something will give your body the signal that you need to be productive. This may sound silly but remember - the key to being more productive is not to eat more but to eat less. 

Sixth, find tasks that you can do on autopilot. Many people sit at their computer for hours, fiddling with the mouse, swiping away their keyboard, and generally just beating around the bush. If this sounds like you, then find an activity that can be automated so that you can spend your time doing something else.

There are a plethora of tasks you can do that don't require any real effort on your part but instead only require your attention and brainpower. 

Finally, use a productivity guide to keep you on track. One of my favourites is Productivity Magic. This guide was created by Chris Gardner, who used the Natural Cycle Method to teach people how to use their natural cycles to become more productive in their lives.
