Despite the fact that they are a relic of the past, there are explanations why business cards have endured and even grown beyond their original intent. Many claim that they are obsolete and that newer media should be used instead. However, there are several (often unnoticed) explanations why business cards are still useful today.

1. Easy To Use and Effective

Business cards are pieces of paper or cardboard with details written on them. Despite this, they still succeed in their goal of making connections.

Another thing to remember is that business cards were designed to be small and compact in the first place. This means you can keep it almost anywhere, with a wallet being the most common. It also means that it won't take long to read.

2. Demonstrates Legitimacy

The confidence of a client is crucial for everyone running a company. For the simple reason that they have a tangible object to connect with you, professional business card are a valuable tool in winning a client's confidence.

Additionally, because business cards almost always include contact information, it gives clients a sense of "safety" in knowing that they can contact someone if they need anything.

3. No Access To The Internet? It's No Problem.

It's nice to have an impressive website or social networking page for one's company, but not being able to access it at all times is inconvenient and may result in client loss.

When you aren't relying on the internet, business cards become indispensable. Having the ability to access important contact details regardless of whether or not you have access to the internet is a huge plus, particularly for businesses.

Furthermore, some people just use the internet as a last resort and will be grateful to be given a business card.
