When we want to develop our activity, different techniques and tips exist to stand out and make ourselves known. One of the best known is of course the use of the business card.

It is useful, practical and efficient tool that fits everywhere. This is the preferred way to establish a first contact with an interlocutor.

However, when it comes time to create it, we don't always know how to do it so as not to fall into the traps. A well-designed business card is vital

1. Neglecting Paper Quality.

Using low quality paper to design your business cards is a mistake. The low-end paper, too thin paper, poor print quality, all this may send a negative image of your business.

To have business cards well-made and good presenting, the recommended paper thickness is at least 300 grams. Your business cards will be more rigid and will resist more to the damage of time and handling.

In addition, this quality of paper will enhance the design of your card and return a much more professional image.

2. Not Using Your Company's Graphic Charter.

Your business cards must take the graphic charter of your company so that it is recognizable. Whether you distribute them to your collaborators, colleagues, associates, the business cards must be exactly alike.

Only the contact information (last name, first name, function) should change.

The business card must represent the values of your company, so they must be identical to your graphic charter so that your contact can recognize it quickly.

3. Using a Font that Is Too Small and Difficult to Read.

Your business cards will give information about your professional profile, your functions, and your contact details. The font chosen must therefore be perfectly legible.

The size should not be too small to make it easier to read. We therefore recommend that you do not use a font size smaller than 8.

4. Not Putting Enough Contrast Between the Typeface and The Background Colour / Image.

When creating your business cards, be careful about the colour used for the font and the background of your card. Remember that the writing must be perfectly legible.

Your business counterpart does not have to make an effort to read the information on your business cards.

Ideally, we recommend that you use a light font on a dark background or a dark font on a light background.
