When Is The Right Time To Give Out Your Name Card Part One
Name cards are not fliers and should not be handed to just anyone. This is called business etiquette. There are rules you should follow while handing out a card.
Not everyone should be given a card. It is better to keep your card and wait for the right person and right time before you hand it out not to appear desperate and unprofessional.
Your business or professional image can be damaged by any slight mistake.
The Dos and Don'ts of Handing Out A Name Card
The Don'ts
1. Do not give your business card to someone who isn't a potential employee, client, or referral source.
2. Having an impressive business card is not to impress women or men, so do not give out your business card for pleasure.
3. Handing out hundreds of cards does not guarantee a hundred clients. So resist giving out cards to everyone for "obtaining customers" sake.
4. Do not give a busy person your card. Shoving your name card in the face of someone working at that moment might irritate that person, and your card might end up in the trash can.
5. Do not walk up to people in the middle of a conversation to give them your card. It is improper and inappropriate to interrupt a conversation.
