The use of rubber stamps is becoming prevalent today. The coming of digital stamps have enabled people to endorse documents digitally and share them online right away. This post tells you the things to know about stamping.

Difference Between Rubber Stamps and Clear Stamps

Clear stamps are more transparent and you can see through them. 2 types of clear stamps are acrylic and photo polymer stamps have an acetate sheet, but it does not have backing on support.

That's is to say that there is no wood block like you have in rubber stamps. A stamping press or acrylic block is for making acrylic type of stamp. Take off the acetate to use the clear stamp. Then put it on a press or block to start the stamping.

Since they are clear you can see the position of the project or paper. You can emboss or stamp using acrylic stamps.

Rubber stamps are more ready to use and they are mounted on woodblock. They tend to last longer.

Why Does Ink Bead Up On Your Stamp?

When you press the stamp on an ink pad and see ink clumps, it is a malfunction. Residues might be on the stamp when producing the stamp on factories.

You can prevent this ink clamping. Before using your new stamp, use a fine grade sandpaper to clean off the leftover residue. Use a stamp cleaner or stamp chamois to clean it off.

Stamping Blocks

Stamping blocks are transparent and plastic blocks that has various sizes that match various stamps. An acrylic stamp clings to the stamping block. Press your stamp towards the material, fabric or paper. Note that your red handy rubber stamp can get compatible with blocks.
