4 Most Well-Known Sticker Design of All Time Part One

Every sticker has a story to tell. Some get imprinted in our hearts and brains as cultural emblems or childhood memories.

1. ‘I voted’ Sticker 

When you think about stickers, the first thing that comes to mind is usually not politics. This sticker, on the other hand, has a strong position in the political awareness of many US voters. Its origins are unknown, however, it is commonly attributed to the 1980s.

In 1982, a Miami newspaper reported on shop owners who provided discounts to anyone wearing this sticker. Janet Boudreau, who recreated the sticker five years later, discusses the sticker's ability to remind people to vote.

‘I voted' stickers replicate the experience of a voting community — rather powerful for such a basic sticker printing!  

2. Santa Cruz’ Screaming Hand 

This iconic sticker will be known to anybody who skates or is interested in skate culture. Jim Phillips designed it in 1985, and it has become one of the most ageless designs.

Santa Cruz describes it as "a skateboarding version of Edvard Munch's renowned expressionist painting "The Scream." Phillips got the idea from his hand.

As an artist, he expresses himself via his hands. A screamed hand magnifies the impact of creative expression and begins to represent an entire community.
